Sit still,
And look into the void,
It as if the world,
Stops,
And allows you
To catch up with it.
Beneath you,
Everything mapped out,
As though in slow motion
So you can absorb each feature,
In real time,
And breathe in history.

That is the very reason you will find me up and about at 4 in the morning. I like to listen to the silence. I often wonder what tribes roamed the hills behind Villarta and if there are great discoveries still left to be made. When I look into the lather faces of old Mexican women and men, I wonder what stories they could tell. Or pick up a coin that is 100 years old…where has it traveled, what has it bought.???
I know, William! History is best when it’s immediate isn’t it? I spent many fabulous weeks exploring Mayan ruins in Mexico!
