There once was a woman (no source),
Who decided to buy a pet horse,
They walked out together,
In all kinds of weather,
On a specially made leash of course!
Great poem…on an unrelated issue, did you send me an invite to something called Zorpia? I accepted the invite because it seemed to come from you through google but then Charles Yallowtiz apparently got an invite from me I didn’t send and he said his security programs went off when he received it. did you send it and do you think its legitimate? didn’t have the security program problem but its odd….
Unfortunately I accepted as it seemed to come from you but I’ve terminated the account t and posted a warning on my blog as it started inviting people on my gmail account on my behalf, so hopefully I’ve stopped it now. Did you ever join, because I’m trying to work out how they make the connections if one doesn’t..very odd…
No need to apologise, I’m just wondering how it gets the contact lists if you don’t initially join, like I did, so that’s why I asked if you did. If you didn’t it seems it must have access to google or gmail more generally, so even terminating an account probably won’t help much for any of us…I guess the best thing to do is ignore anything like this in future… 🙂
I’m not sure if I’ve succeeded or not but I went to my supposed account, changed all the email settings to not go to anyone and then for. good measure followed the links and prompts to terminate the account. But I only did that this morning so we shall see if it worked…that’s why I asked on my blog post warning for people to tell me if they get any emails of this type supposedly from me now…
I cannot do so because it does not sem to know who I am, despite the fact that it sends rafts of invitations on my behalf and I don’t want to sign in with Facebook and compound the problem!
Ah, so you didn’t join when you got an invite? That makes it even more suspicious really. If you didn’t join then you don’t need to terminate a non existent account….but I suspect I will still get emails now then and all we can do is ignore them and suggest to others to do the same. It does make you wonder if they’ve hacked into and compromised google and gmail then, because how else would they know to send me an invite fro you?
Exactly. It seems the main thing this one wants is to get people to go to their site for the advertising dollars side of things because if they already had enough info to know to send me an invite from you without you joining they hardly need one to join to get the info, therefore the aim must be something else. I guess that’s a bit comforting if it is the case, but the email spamming is a pain.

Thank you, Helen. And I’m so sorry about the mail, it’s from a lot in Hing Kong who have been really aggressive about trying to snare me. Ignore it!

I know, me too! It seems to have invited loads of people that I’ve never even heard of! Many apologies!

I agree!
How did you extricate yourself from its clutches?

Thanks. Not sure if I can manage this but will try!
Good luck. I started with unsubscribing from email then went from there. Fingers crossed for you (and for me that it actually worked) !!

God alone knows how these hackers work!
