Built for Juscelino Kubitschek,*
This bridge has a truly high-tech spec,
Built in Brasilia, across Lake Paranoa,
It’s sinuous and serpentine, just like a boa,
Made of concrete and steel, it has grandeur and style,
And extends over the water for more than half a mile.
Each arch faces a different way,
Presidential Drive, a national mainstay.
*President 1956-1961

Love it. Another I have never heard of!
Beautiful isn’t it?
Beautiful, and very creative. So many bridges are plain boring.
This one is beautiful isn’t it Linda?
Yes it is and I was born in Argentina and been many times to Brasilia. Although I’ve been a lot more to Sao Pablo as it was my father’s favorite Brazilian City.
I have lived in 1977 in England, and since late 2012 in Spain but love My SouthAmerica. It is a fallacy by the way the Argentinians do not get on with Brazilians 🙂
Love you blog.
Happy New Year to you.
Thank you Liliana! And a happy 2014 to you too!
That is one beautiful and unique bridge. I love bridges, I love walking across them. I admire the engineering that goes into them.
Me too Alana! I love any unusual architecture!
