Princess Khutulun was a terrific girl,
She left most of her suitors in a terrible whirl,
The niece of the Mongol, Kubla Khan,
She was a better warrior than any man.
She told her uncle that she would,,
Marry a man who could wrestle her and win,
Sadly history relates that nobody could.
So this is where her legend does begin.
All those who failed would give her 100 horse,
An exceptionally fair reward for her of course.
It is said that on the day she died,
She had 10,000, unless somebody lied!

Wow, true girl power 🙂
Certainly is! Don’t you love her?!
Makes me want to read more about her!
You’ve got to love her, haven’t you?
I admire fiercely tough women. She must have been amazingly strong–or determined–or both–to not lose the arm-wrestling challenge! Thanks for shining a light on another fascinating historical figure, Caro!
SO DO I Amy! You’ve got to love her!
Hopefully, her desire was to remain celibate!
I think that was the point Roy, none of the men could match her and she had 10,000 horse to prove it…
She was probably thought of as so strange. Interesting how those figures in history have turned things around for the rest of us.
I agree! Lucky us to not have to arm wrestle!
