You know when you get that desperate urge,
To simply search for bric a brac,
You don’t feel the need to spend, to splurge,
Like some rich as Croesus megalomaniac.
You go with a friend and it isn’t a crime,
To wander, to drift from shop to shop,
To spend a little quality time,
Not buying, just looking, until you feel the need to stop,
And sit in a cafe and have a cup of tea,
And discuss what you’ve seen with your very good friend,
I call this adventure ‘truffling’, this shared camaraderie,
It’s a day to snuffle and waffle, I can recommend!
One of the adventures my wife and I do together often. It is a great way to relax and the tea always seems to have a special taste after a few hours of discovery. Sometimes we share a blueberry scone with the tea.
Way to go William!
Ohh, I thought this was another post about chocolate truffles! I love this word, Caro, and will heretofore use it when my kiddos and I spend an afternoon digging through thrift stores or yard sales for treasures. “Wanna go truffling, anybody. . . .?”
It’s a great word for it, isn’t it? Xx
Truffling sounds like a trifling good time.
It is!
