Let’s hear it for the tanty files,
A blog that seduces and beguiles,
And fills you full of mirth and smiles,
When you recognise the symptoms in your own child!
A tanty’s a tantrum of gigantic size,
That makes you gasp and stretch your eyes,
It may even take you by surprise,
And you’ll often stop to wonder why?!
( I particularly recommend tanty part three and the radio flyer! )

Heh…I was lucky enough to be on the receiving end of only a very small amount of tantrums from my son when he was little. He hated, and still hates, looking bad in front of strangers. So self-composed and it was an internal thing! π
My daughter used to sit on the bottom step of the stairs and drum her feet until the tantrum passed. And then she would come back all smiles!
Sounds like your daughter developed her own coping mechanism. Did you help her learn this? I’ve never heard the expression tanty but I feel like having one now and then myself!
Cute Rhyme!
Thank you!
Me too!
It was the perfectionist in my eldest that resulted in the most tantrums. I had to iron so much homework after it had been screwed up and thrown across the room because it wasn’t quite right!
I’ve never heard the word “tanty” – but it makes it sound less painful! We all have them, to one degree or another, now and then. π
This sounds like a fun website to visit!
Thank you for the lovely mention! I am so glad the Tanty Files has been so well received, it certainly lightens the (terribly grave situation according to the 2 yr old) situation that I do not get stressed about the Tanty rather just take a sneaky snap. And I can tell you now, I do have enough photos for a part 4 and a part 5! π
I shall look forward to 4 & 5 then! My daughter used to go and sir in the penultimate stair and drum her heels against it. When she judged she’d beaten the hell out if it sufficiently, she came back all peaches and cream!
