I know I have talked about this wonderful blog before, but I could not resist writing something about this beautiful picture! So here is yet another of Seth Johnson’s beautiful photographs. Go find him at Sethsnap on Facebook or WordPress.
Hanging there like a ghostly globe in the sky,
Earth’s only natural satellite.
You animate, you electrify,
You’re an uncommon yet beauteous diurnal sight.
Spectral today in a field of bright blue,
You resemble a nibbled round of cheese,
Through each phase you display a different view,
Showing every one of your idiosyncrasies…
I prefer the full orb view, Caro!
I like it full stop, Roy!
Just wonderful – incredible rhyme
Thank you Carol!
I sometimes wonder when I see the mood in the midday sky, just how dark it must be on the other side
of the world, when this side has both the sun and the moon.
Yeah William, I know what you mean!
Beautiful blog! The moon certainly is a wonderous being! š
I agree!
Caro,
I remember the day that, as a child, I realized the moon didn’t really change shape in the sky, but changes its appearance because of the light shining on it. This still (actually!) fills me with wonder. Thanks for sharing this lovely photo and info about this blog.
You are welcome!
Lovely! Both the poem and the picture. I love when you do these, Caro.
Thank you Arwen!
