Impossibly fragile

Within their span.

A patch of glorious colour,

Against the blue and white

Of the national flag, 

Bougainvillea

Morning light,

Soft through the ether,

Shafting through the cloud,

To highlight pockets of landscape,

Tuscany in a natural spotlight.

Drifting

Down river

A gentle breeze

Filling the sail

And the trees tumbling

Joyfully, exuberantly

Down to the water’s edge

Produces a similar golden rectangle,

The Swiss architect,

Le Corbusier knew this,

Le Corbusier lived this,

Le Corbusier produced this perfectly

In the Villa Stein.

Or phi – Φ.

I love this spot

It is a place of magic

I used to come here as a child

And see how high

I could swing

The fence posts marched

Down the hill

And I would try to reach them

And on autumn days

When the leaves began to fall

II felt as if the trees themselves

Were scattering gold nuggets at my feet

My home is all I can afford

A farmhouse on a hidden fjord

A place of safety and of peace

Where I find a sweet release

I’m an exhausted pup,

‘Cause my playpen’s big,

And I’ve been flying round it,

Like a mad thingamajig.

I’m on my knees,

No puff left at all,

So excuse me please,

If I sleep where I fall.
