The Apple

19 Wednesday Nov 2014

I was tempted by an Apple,
I just couldn’t resist,
Though all the dwarves told me
I should cease and desist.
This Apple has given me
All manner of fun,
With this kit in my corner
I feel my battle’s been won!
So tell me dear reader
Should I just take one byte?
Will my web skills increase
As it were overnight?

Tracks

Railway tracks
Leading
Who knows where
Alongside
An open stretch of ocean
Under
A forgiving moon.

The View

From way up here I have a view,
Of places to go to and things to do.
I want to travel by that balloon,
To view another country’s moon.
To lands that haven’t been charted yet,
To Timbuktu, Tehran, Tibet.
To places that intrigue me so,
Make my heart leap, my spirit grow.
To Panama, Ulan Bator,
To Perpignan and Ilkley Moor.
There’s a world out there to see, explore,
And I will do so, that’s for sure.

A lone bird
Flying home
To his mate
Watched

Journey With Brownie

I’m off!
It’s a straight road,
So no risk of losing my way.
I don’t need much,
Just an old friend
As companion,
Brownie, my bear.
Don’t stop us!
We’re on a mission!

Age Of Wonder

I love the Spring
When the world
Reawakens
But I also love
The Fall
I sit amongst
The trees
And wait
For the leaves
To shed
And if I’m lucky
Some drop
In my lap

Walking In The Rain

Walking with my children
In the rain
I wear red against the raging storm
Arabella tries to hold her umbrella
To keep her head dry
But her arms are young
And weak
And her hair gets wet and wild
Little Alex just runs into the rainstorm
Splashes in puddles
And waves at passing birds
We go walking, walking in the rain

Gingko Highway

A still day,
No suspicion of wind,
No soft autumn chill
On the back of my neck
Just a road stretching ahead
Framed by sunshine,
The leaves that have fallen
And the tracks left
By those who have gone before me
A gingko highway
In the fall

Walking

Strolling through the woods
On a summer’s day,
The sun bursts a path through the trees
And pools in light puddles at my feet.
Walking, walking, walking…

First Snow

The first snow has fallen,
Like icing sugar,
Sprinkled over everything.
A fine layer on each branch,
A coating over the grass,
Tread softly,
Your steps will leave a ghostly imprint.
