love

I’ve walked the universe you to find,
Look back and I am right behind.
There for comfort and support,
To anticipate your every thought.
Your my backbone, I’ll be yours,
To help you settle any scores,
I’d walk through fire to set you free,
To show you what you mean to me.
There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do,
To let your talents shine on through.
You are thoughtful, loving, kind,
A gem like you is hard to find.
I know my faults and there are many,
But in you I just cannot find any.
You are so brilliant yet insecure,
So darling I want to make you sure,
Sure I’ll be here, right by your side,
To support you through a bumpy ride,
But also to share your triumphs too,
Because, my darling, I love you.

I’ve been waiting here patiently,
For the salmon run,
For my dinner,
And here it is…
Fishing is fun!

What Love Is

love

When I think about what love is
My heart turns over, my blood starts to fizz.
When I am asked what love represents
I say it takes over in every sense.
So what exactly is it that love involves?
It’s someone around whom your world revolves.
It’s someone who makes you feel safe and warm,
Protected and sheltered, a port in a storm.
I love your eyes, I love your skin,
Where your body ends, there I begin.

A fine pen,
A steady hand,
Unswerving eye,
Attention to detail,
And talent,
Buckets of it.

Waiting

We’re waiting for our Dad here,
He’s coming home from work.
There’s me, in blue, I’m Robbie Fear,
Sam, Dougray, Belle and Turk.
It is our favourite time of day,
It’s great anticipation,
It’s 50 shades of gold not grey,
He’s the best Pa in the nation.

Barry told me
To look for Lola
On Copacobana Beach
But I couldn’t find
The showgirl
…. Or the sand
Till close to the shore!
