The beauty of skin
When you just see a flank
The gentle slope of sinew
The wonder of shape and form
An exercise in monochrome
Still life

Water, ruffled,
Like a macro of skin,
Under angry clouds,
And a threatening moon,
It’s going to be
A turbulent night.

Waiting under the arcade Sheltering from the rain. Because there’s a storm brewing. And I need to catch The downtown train

Strange
Mind-stretching
Beautiful
Awe-inspiring
Art or genius
Or both?

Would you like a Bacardi?
Can I get you a gin?
A nice boutique variety,
Where shall we begin?
I’ve got some Paul Masson brandy,
Some Vodka Citron,
Or, if you like Yankee,
I have some Bourbon!
My bar was set up
By my darling wife
You’ll have THE best martini,
You’ve had in your life!

I was 18 when I met you,
And you were 22,
I loved your sense of humour,
And those stunning eyes of blue.
We waited to get married,
Until I was 21,
But spent each day together,
Surprising everyone.
And now we celebrate our grandchild,
Whose wedding is today,
And we could make our vows again,
Because our feelings still hold sway.
I’m now an ancient 88,
And you are 92,
But I may as well be in my teens,
Because, darling, I love you.
