The Crocodile

I’m a creature

Of stealth and guile

The silent approach

Targetted acquisition

The quiet assassin

That spreads

Foreboding, alarm

Dread accompanies me

Panic walks with me

So I ask,

Are you feeling brave?

Morning Bells

Dawn brings

A sense of impermanence.

A bluebell,

Fragile,

Almost transparent,

In the morning sun.

Rings in

The new day.

love

if I train my tree

To grow

And show

The space that

Once was my heart

And is now

Filled with you

Will you settle

In its shade?

Hula Hooping

Such a simple thing!

A swing of the hips,

To keep the hoop going.

And I love

How the rhythm

Created

Just

Lifts my spirits.

And my shadow

Stretches out

Underneath me.

The Pose

A ballerina

Seated

On a polished floor

Bending forward

Her reflection

Forming

A beautiful shape;

Cupid’s Bow lips

Poised for a kiss

The Apple

This was the apple

I chose for Snow White,

Red, juicy, inviting.

I plucked it from the tree

With the dew still on it,

Knowing she couldn’t resist.

It almost screams out

“Eat me! Eat me!”

And she did.

The Getaway

Early morning,,

The dew still fat

And heavy

On the leaf,

And the boats moored,

For a quick getaway,

A river escape.

Is your courage strong?

Constant?

Are you ready to leave,

With me?

London

The city,

Viewed from Gypsy Hill,

The air is dense,

And it is still.

What a truly

Marvellous view!

I love this town,

Don’t you?
