Morning Mist

There is a morning mist

In the harbour today.

It has rolled in off the ocean

And is lying thick

And heavy

Amongst the boats

In Silence

Morning fog

Bounced off the waters

Of the estuary

And drifted amongst the reeds

A single boat

Lay tethered

At its moorings

Waiting in silence

To come back to life

A beautiful key

Lovingly wrought

That unlocked

Droplets

From a

Like a perfect pyramid

A beautifully

Manicured

Stretch of sand

Marred by

A single blemish

The prints

Where my feet have trod

The Glasswing

Rare and very beautiful,

The Glasswing Butterfly.

Its wings look

Impossibly fragile

As the image of

What it is sitting on

Gets Reproduced

Within their span.

Exuberant,

Delicate,

Yet dominant.

A patch of glorious colour,

Against the blue and white

Of the national flag,

Bougainvillea

In Santorini, Greece.

Morning Light

Morning light,

Soft through the ether,

Shafting through the cloud,

To highlight pockets of landscape,

Tuscany in a natural spotlight.

Drifting

Drifting

Down river

A gentle breeze

Filling the sail

And the trees tumbling

Joyfully, exuberantly

Down to the water’s edge
