If I kiss you…
….will you become a prince?
Or will I become a frog?
I’ve often wondered!

You And I

Where do I end and where do you start?
We’re joined at the head and joined at the heart.
We wake in the night and talk through ideas,
Of our hopes and intentions, our worries and fears.
We might madden each other, but never for long,
Because the love that we share is so constant and strong.
There is just one puzzle, one minor regret,
Why did we experience misery before we finally met?
I guess there’s an answer, we needed those lows,
To discover our passion, a mutual love that just grows.
Where do you end, and where do I start?
We are one perfect package with one beating heart.

The story goes that…
I returned from finding food for my mate…
and found her dead.
The serpent had killed her,
And our unborn babies,
He’d eaten all our eggs,
Every one.
So I attacked the snake.
Even though I know I am doomed.
The god’s daughters take pity on me.
One gives us back, my wife and I,
The gift of life,
One made us beautiful, to celebrate my bravery,
Loyalty and love,
The third had eyes put in my tail feathers,
That I may see every inch,
Of this beautiful world.

Just You And Me

Just you and me
In this big, wild world
And obstacles to negotiate
But we will do so together.

Sitting

I like to sit on the beach,
At sunset.
Two chairs are set out,
For you and I.
We can lounge in them,
The orange one for me,
The green one for you,
And watch as the sun
Tips over the horizon.

A Partnership

I know that I am very small,
And to me, you’re a giant, ten feet tall,
But you and me are the best
of friends,
Our partnership all else transcends.
You seem to know that I am not strong,
That if you chose to bolt*, I couldn’t hold you long.
That your strength is mine, a billion-fold,
After all, I’m only four years old!
You’re a gentle giant, through and through,
From the moment we met, our mutual love just grew!

Fun!

Running, running,
Our kites streaming out,
Behind us,
And the sand,
Soft, comfortable,
Beneath our feet.
And the race,
To see who reaches
The bottom of the sand dune first.
Joyful! Fantastic!
FUN!

In Harmony With Nature

We lead simple lives.
We ask only for a little bounty
From these waters
To feed our children.
We take only enough to feed the village
What we have, we share.

Catching Bubbles

If I reach up very tall,

And stand on tippy toes,

I might just catch you.

Blown on a breeze,

In a continuous stream.

Delicate

Transparent,

Beautiful.

Perfect spheres of possibility,

Exploding with colour,

Where the sun catches you,

You make me feel joyful,

That the world is alive.

Bubbles!

PE793

PE793,
Listing at low tide,
Out in the harbour.
A boat built for action,
She looks somehow forlorn,
As she waits to set to sea.
Yet she is also magnificent,
Brushed as she is,
With the purple, orange and pink,
Of sunset.
