The Pose

A ballerina

Seated

On a polished floor

Bending forward

Her reflection

Forming

A beautiful shape;

Cupid’s Bow lips

Poised for a kiss

The Apple

This was the apple

I chose for Snow White,

Red, juicy, inviting.

I plucked it from the tree

With the dew still on it,

Knowing she couldn’t resist.

It almost screams out

“Eat me! Eat me!”

And she did.

The Getaway

Early morning,,

The dew still fat

And heavy

On the leaf,

And the boats moored,

For a quick getaway,

A river escape.

Is your courage strong?

Constant?

Are you ready to leave,

With me?

London

The city,

Viewed from Gypsy Hill,

The air is dense,

And it is still.

What a truly

Marvellous view!

I love this town,

Don’t you?

Snow

On branch

On trunk

On tree

And

On the roof

Of the red barn

A tangerine moon

In an indigo sky

Skin

The beauty of skin

When you just see a flank

The gentle slope of sinew

The wonder of shape and form

An exercise in monochrome

Still life

Turbulence

Water, ruffled,

Like a macro of skin,

Under angry clouds,

And a threatening moon,

It’s going to be

A turbulent night.

Waiting under the arcade       Sheltering from the rain.            Because there’s a storm brewing.   And I need to catch                              The downtown train

Strange

Mind-stretching

Beautiful

Awe-inspiring

Art or genius

Or both?
