These towers were built with skill, with love,
Symbols of something great above,
Celebrating spirit, faith and duty,
Built with great regard for beauty.
From these towers the great bells peal,
To call you in, to pray, to kneel,
To bow your head with great respect,
To cross yourself, to genuflect.
In the midst of a busy metropolis,
Stands St. John’s, Indianapolis,
This church has seen people come and go,
Congregations dwindle, city grow,
Yet if I return to this place next year,
This edifice will still be here.

I’ve seen this church. It is incredibly impressive. Nice tribute, Caro.
It’s beautiful
I have never been to Indianapolis, but if I ever have the privilege, I’ll for certain visit this lovely place. I love to tour old buildings and especially churches like this one. There was so much care and attention taken when it was built. Well done, Caro!
Thank you! It’s beautiful isn’t it?
Beautiful towers!
I love it when old buildings are kept and maintained instead of making way for newer and less beautiful looking ones!
I absolutely agree with you
Me too – an old building junkie!
I’ve never been to Indianapolis but I’ve been to churches in Macon, GA, in Charleston, SC and in Binghamton, NY (yes, we have an interesting one, right downtown, dating from the 1850’s). I love to tour old buildings, including churches.
They are built with such love and reverence
Aren’t they?
I love old buildings and especially old churches, this one’s a peach.
Isn’t it wonderful!
